icanhascheezburger. there are plenty of weird things on the internets, and this probably isn't the weirdest. it is, however, one of the funniest IMNSHO. in lolcats argot, one might say "iz gret, aktually". read the history to learn the genesis of all this weirdness. oh, and that pony? not yours.

earthquake sets japan back to 2147
the onion is usually funny, but this faux story about an earthquake in japan had me rolling, particularly the remark about the United States' offer to help. it pushes my sci-fi and funny buttons at the same time, and that doesn't happen too often.

marc andreesen of Netscape fame has started a blog. while you might expect it to contain thoughts about the internet and tech industry (which it does), it's also a bit more personal. a recent entry lists his top 10 science fiction novelists of the 00s. i thought a few of my readers might be interested in his list; i certainly was, since it seems he and i share similar taste in sci fi.
